Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman in Rosewood and Chocolate Brown Leather, Herman Miller, 1976
by MCM-SF
Designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, this vintage model 670 Lounge Chair and model 671 Ottoman pair richly grained rosewood shells with chocolate brown leather cushions. The warm wood tones complement the deep brown upholstery, highlighting the sculptural curves and inviting proportions of this classic design.
The chair features a gently reclined profile, generously cushioned seating, and padded armrests, accompanied by the matching upholstered ottoman. Button tufting and soft folds in the leather lend texture and character, while the contrasting metal bases give the set a balanced, architectural presence.
Original labels on the undersides bear the date June 1, 1976. The brown leather has been professionally restored, and the rosewood shells show minor edge wear consistent with age and use. Overall, the set is in excellent vintage condition—a handsome example of Charles and Ray Eames’s enduring approach to comfort, materials, and form.
