1960s Walter Wirz Rosewood & Glass Cube Table for Wilhelm Renz
by MCM-SF
Designed by Walter Wirz for Wilhelm Renz, this piece embodies the clean, architectural style of German mid-century modern design. Active in the 1950s–60s, Wirz was known for his minimalist, functional approach and refined use of materials.
This example features a cube-form frame with rounded corners, crafted in richly grained rosewood veneer, paired with an inset smoked-glass top. It rests on chrome ball casters, adding both mobility and a subtle modern accent. Unmarked, as is typical for pieces of this period. Circa 1960s. It has light surface scratches to the wood consistent with age and use. Chrome casters show minor patina.
