Erik Buch Model 61 Barstools in Rosewood Danish Mid-Century Set of Three
by MCM-SF
Erik Buch (1923-1982), a renowned Danish industrial designer from Copenhagen, is celebrated for his mid-century modern designs featuring simple, organic lines. He expertly combined fabric and leather with richly-grained woods like polished teak, oak, and rosewood.
Buch's notable success came with the Model 49 chair in 1949, known for its curved, "floating" seat and Scandinavian modern aesthetic. His designs often bore the year of their creation, especially those produced with the cabinetmaker Oddense Maskinsnedkeri, later renamed O.D. Møbler in the late 1960s or early '70s.
Buch's work remains influential and highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts, solidifying his legacy in Danish design.
Designed in the 1960s, these stunning Erik Buch model 61 counter-height barstools are constructed of solid rosewood. The seats are covered in Danish Skye vinyl. These barstools are in excellent condition for their vintage age and are sold as a set of three.
