Johannes Andersen Teak Dining Table & Model #16 Dining Chairs, 1960s
by MCM-SF
Johannes Andersen, a Danish furniture designer, is renowned for his influential contributions to mid-century Scandinavian design. Born in Aarhus, he began his career as an apprentice cabinetmaker in the 1920s and established his own architectural and furniture workshop by the 1930s. Known for his organic forms, clean lines, and functional elegance, Andersen’s work exemplifies the hallmarks of Danish modernism. He continued to design into his eighties, leaving a lasting legacy that embodies the essence of Scandinavian design—harmoniously blending form, function, and timeless simplicity.
Johannes Andersen crafted this beautiful Danish teak dining table and chair set for Uldum Møblefabrik in the 1960s. This set is in excellent condition for its vintage age; the table features a lovely wood grain and four solid, tapered teak legs. It comes with four solid teak Model 16 dining chairs with black vinyl seats. The wood displays a stunning teak grain and is in good condition. The seats have all been recently upholstered with new foam and vinyl, making this a handsome set that would look great in any mid-century-inspired home.
